Dear Friend,
The day I almost died began like any other. I was helping
out my dad with a wood-working project.
We were in his basement together and I was using a powerful
tablesaw. I was cutting a five-foot long strip of wood when
something went horribly wrong.
Even though I was wearing safety goggles, and even though I
was using an additional long piece of wood to guide the
thin strip of wood I was cutting, something horrible
happened that I did not see coming.
As I pushed the wood through the blade, part of the thin
strip snapped, jumped, and . . .
Caught itself on the giant teeth
of the saw blade!
Which was bad for one simple reason:
The blade was spinning at 120
miles per hour...straight at ME!
In effect, the saw blade acted like a supercharged
slingshot, shooting this jagged arrow of wood . . .
straight into my gut.
I staggered back, feeling like I just got hit in the
stomach with a baseball bat.
Looking down in horror I saw that I had about 2 feet of
wood sticking out of me. In shock (and forgetting my
medical training) I immediately grasped the arrow of wood
and pulled out what I could.
What I didn't know at the time was
that a large piece of wood broke
off and remained buried inside of
me! But more on that later...
My father helped me walk upstairs to the kitchen. He sat me
down in a chair and asked me how I was. Now, I can't recall
what happened after that, but my dad said that I started to
slump forward and passed out on the chair.
At that point my father dialed
911.
Apparently after about 30 seconds I regained consciousness
and waited for the ambulance to arrive.
In the hospital emergency room, I laid on a table as a
doctor poked and prodded at my stomach, pulling my wound
apart to see if there was still any wooden splinters lodged
in there.
After what seemed like hours of pain, he finally told me
that he couldn't tell one way or the other. After all, he
said, any wood that was still lodged in there had soaked up
lots of blood and blended in perfectly.
I was discharged and went home.
That first night in bed was horrible. Any time I moved any
part of my body, I felt a stabbing pain in my gut. Tasks
that were usually easy (like taking on or off clothes)
became time-consuming and painful ordeals.
My recovery was very slow and
during that time I lost all
control of my core muscles.
Not being able to use your abdominals AT ALL is something
you truly have to experience to know what I mean. See, the
truth is...
If you can't use your core
muscles, you can't use your entire
body. PERIOD.
Within days of my injury I developed back pain as well as
pain throughout my entire body.
When I was finally able to get up and walk (with a lot of
help from my arms) I took a look in the mirror and realized
I had aged tremendously.
I didn't look a day UNDER 80 years
old!
At that point I realized that core strength is the MASTER
KEY to health and fitness. Without it...no matter how

"Hi Ben,
Your program is just great.
I try to work out each evening for about 1/2 hour and at the weekend for 1
hour.
I may have a lazy day where i manage to find an excuse not to work out
(imagine that) but find that i really miss the workout.
I have cancelled my gym membership just last week and will enjoy the
saving.
Also for the 1/2 to 3/4 hour i do spend working out (time seems to fly-by)
i have found i sweat more and get a better work-out then in the gym where
i would spend 2hours on the machines etc..
Some of your exercises seem, when initially looking at them on paper, to
be quite simply and i had my doubts as to how effective they would be,
however, when i started working with them they gave me quite a surprise.
